As a self-proclaimed "foodie", finding the top rated eateries when we travel is a must, and Budapest definitely did not disappoint. Whether you're in the mood for a juicy burger and fries, a brick oven Napoli pizza, a fancy French four-course meal, or authentic Hungarian Ghoulash, Budapest has it all.

I will admit, I spent more time planning dinners than anything during our two week holiday, but it paid off because everything we ate was absolutely delicious! Luckily, neither of us are picky eaters (I have come a loooong way...just ask my mom!) so we didn't need to exclude any place due to not having a wide variety of options. One thing that is prevalent at most restaurants in the EU is a very small menu. You may have a choice between 4-5 starters, 6-7 entrees, and 2-3 desserts. To me, that denotes that they have perfected everything on their menu and you're guaranteed to have a delectable meal.

Here are some simple tips for finding the best eats near you - Do a simple Google search for "best restaurants near me". You can customize it to whatever type of food you're in the mood for or for a specific location/zip code. From there, you can apply filters - I always choose 4.5+ stars, the preferred price range for that evening, and outdoor seating option, if applicable.

Here are some of the incredible places we ate at during our time in Budapest:

-Lucky 7 Burgers (no photos - after a long travel day, we scarfed our food and went straight to bed)

-Luna Cafe

-Gelateria Pichier (best chimney cakes in Budapest, hands down!)

There is plenty more to do in Budapest than just eating your way through, but as the wise Bethenny Frankel once said: "Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments". Cha-ching!

About Me

Hi there, my name is Sheena and I'm from a small town in PA. I've lived in Ohio for the last 17 years with my husband, Stephen. We've spent most of our years together traveling the US and Europe, with the majority hiking, backpacking, and camping. In 2021, we sold our home and most of our belongings, and moved into an expedition rig.

This project has been a long time coming, so I hope you enjoy!
